Most bloggers will be aware of BlogCatalog, which is one of the major social bookmarking sites for bloggers. The site allows you to register your blog and display the blogcatalog widget to measure visitors to your blog. But this visitor monitoring widget can be a nuisance in the way that it always your identity as soon as you access a blog that is registered with BlogCatalog. The site also seems to have some eccentric criteria for accepting blogs into membership. I have seen some very spammy sites at blogcatalog but one of my (advertisement free) blogs has now been declined three times at blogcatalog.
